Krydstogtrederi øger kapacitet med 43 pct.

Mens mange dele af den maritime branche fortsat kæmper med overkapacitet, går det forrygende godt for krydstogtindustrien. Costa Cruises, der er den italienske arm af det store krydstogtrederi Carnival, forventer således en vækst på 43 procent frem til 2021.

Over de kommende tre år tager rederiet levering af fire nye krydstogtskibe. Det 135.500 GT store italiensk byggede krydstogtskib Costa Venezia tilgår rederiet i februar næste år, mens et endnu ikke navngivet søsterskib følger året efter. De to skibe er designet til det voksende kinesiske krydstogtmarked.

Rederiets nye flagskib, det LNG-drevne Costa Smeralda, der under bygning i Finland, vil blive leveret i 2019, fulgt af et søsterskib året i 2021.

Sammenlagt har Costa Group syv nye krydstogtskibe til en værdi af 6 milliarder euro i ordrebogen.
