HH-ferries take market share
SHIPPING: For the first time since the Øresund Bridge opened 12 years ago, HH-ferriesat Elsinore - Helsingborg have succeeded in taking market share from theOresund Bridge. And at the same time increasing customer satisfaction.
In May, Scandlines carried 704,000 passengers, 144,800 passenger cars and 32,800 trucks between the two cities. The figures mark a small but important improvement.
"In a weak market where volumes are generally declining, we are pleasedto be able to compete with the bridge's aggressive pricing policy. Hopefullyit is an indication that the investments we've made were worthwhile in the long term, not least through more and more satisfied customers", saysHenrik Rørbæk, route director at Elsinore - Helsingborg ferries to the Helsingør Dagblad.
In recent months, Scandlines Elsinore-Helsingborg has invested morethan 125 million DKK in ferries between Elsinore and Helsingborg. Now,all ferries fully renovated and it has resulted in increased customer satisfaction.
"We perceive a significant increase in customer satisfaction, and now the 92 percent of our customers the highest or second highest points for ourservice and quality on board. It shows that our significant investment incrossing was the right decision. "says Henrik Rørbæk,.
Rørbæk suggested that another important reason for the increased customer satisfaction, is the increase in ferry frequency where there is now a ferry departure every 15 minutes.
