Gastankskib i kollission med færgeleje

Et fuldt lastet gastankskib fra Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) ramte et kaj anlæg og gik på grund i ved Port Said i Egypten mandag. En video viser, hvordan skibet Ethane Opal kolliderer med et færgeleje inden det står på grunden.

Skibet var fuldt lastet med ethangas på vej fra USA til Indien for Reliance Industries, da ulykken skete, skriver Splash.

Skibet ligger nu for anker ud for Port Said med skader efter såvel kollissionen med kaj anlægget som efter grundstødningen.

Ethane Opal elleve måneder gammelt og et af seks Very Large Ethane Carrier (VLEC), som MOL har fået bygget på Samsung Heavy Industries til opgaven med transport af ethangas fra USA til Indien. Skibene er den største af sin slags i verden.
