Fartøj vækker stor opsigt i Frederikshavn

Siden starten af december har det 9.560 DWT store, britisk indregistrerede offshorefartøj Seven Navica vagt en hel del opsigt i Frederikshavn. Skibet, der bygget til at udlægge rør på havbunden, er i Frederikshavn for at blive opgraderet og ombygget.

Det 109 meter lange og 22 meter brede skib, er i stand til at udlægge rør på havbund der befinder sig på en dybde af op til 2.000 meter. Fartøjet er udstyret med et kæmpehjul, med en vægt på 2.200 ton, hvor rørene rulles ud fra.

Seven Navica skal ud over at blive opgradet, også ombygges, så det får plads til flere besætningsmedlemmer.

Skibet ventes at blive liggende i Frederikshavn indtil februar/marts næste år.
