Færøske Smyril Line fik overskud

Smyril Lines opnåede i 2013 et overskud på 32,2 millioner kroner. Det var godt 20 millioner mere end i 2012. En voksende stigning i salget er hovedårsagen til det gode resultat sammen med besparelser, der betød, at driften var betydeligt mere økonomisk i 2013 end i årene før 2011.

Billetpriserne blev gennemsnitligt reduceret 9 procent. Det var medvirkende til at passagerantallet steg med omkring 13 procent og det samlede billetsalg steg med tre procent i forhold til 2012.

Stigningen i antallet af passagerer i 2013 resulterede tillige med et højere salg ombord.

Smyril Line Koncernen har kontor i Danmark, Tyskland og Island og hovedsæde på Færøerne.

Smyril Line sejler hele året mellem Hirtshals og Torshavn. Om sommeren, fra april til oktober, forlænger skibet Norröna sejladsen, så den også omfatter Island.
