Esvagt lays up four vessels
SHIPPING: The Danish shipping company Esvagt, has withdrawn four ships from service as a consequence of the declining offshore market in the North Sea area.The ships are now laid up in Esbjerg.
A number of crew members are being given training ashore, and so far no employees have been laid-off.
"We are trying to avoid any lay-offs", Ovin H Carlsson, CEO of Esvagt, told Shipgaz.
The vessels that are laid up are Esvagt Beta, Esvagt Bravo, Esvagt Preventer, Esvagt Supporter.
The whole Esvagt fleet consists of 27 vessels and two vessels for crew change.
