The aim of this course is to help you understand the importance of PPE used in hazardous workplace environments. You will learn about the responsibilities that you and your employer have in relation to PPE, and about suitable types of PPE that can help keep yourself and others safe in the workplace according to OSHA standards.

The aim of this course is to provide the required level of knowledge to meet the standards of competence for seafarers Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities (PSSR) as mandated by Table A-VI/1-4 in the STCW Code.

Upon completion of the course the delegate will be able to: Summarize the formation of the Joint Safety and Hygiene Commission (CMSH), describe the roles and responsibilities of each member of the CMSH, explain the recommendations to improve the CMSH's operations.

The course will also allow you to identify common sources and destinations of marine trash and debris and explain the laws, regulations and preventative measures that prevent trash and debris from polluting the waterways.
