Danish Defence Club and SKULD join up
MARITIME SERVICE: Danske Rederes Retsvaern/Danish Defence Club (DDC) and Assuranceforeningen Skuld (Gjensidig), Oslo (SKULD) have reached an agreement to amalgamate the activities of the two parties into one, and continue as SKULD.
"DDC has been working closely with SKULD for many years, we know the company very well, and this amalgamation is a good, long term solution for our members. Today DDC has one office in Copenhagen providing legal assistance all over the world. SKULD Defence has offices in all regions which will surely improve response time and provide savings for our members. No changes in staff are expected as a result of the merger and DDC members can expect to be served by the same staff as before from the Copenhagen office. Copenhagen will become a strategic part of SKULD Defence", says Jan Meinertz, Chairman of DDC.
By 1 January 2011, DDC will prepare for voluntary liquidation which is expected to be completed by 30 June 2011.
"We greet all members of DDC welcome to SKULD and we will work hard to continue the tradition of DDC and provide reliable and expedient advice in maritime matters. We will ensure that the amalgamation will run smoothly. Through our existing cooperation with DDC, we have a solid understanding of existing activities and can offer DDC's members continuity in all pending issues", Douglas Jacobson, CEO of SKULD, says.
