Cosco afslutter køb af Piræus Havn

Kinesiske Cosco Shipping har endeligt overtaget en ejerandel på 51 procent af Grækenlands største havn, Piræus. Salget af havnen har været sat i stå af flere omgange, men endte med at blive gennemført alligevel som led i de forhandlinger, som Grækenland har ført med sine kreditorer i eurozonen.

Aftalen er, at Cosco skal betale 280,5 millioner euro for den 51 procent store ejerandel. Derudover har Cosco lovet at bruge på 552 millioner dollar over de næste fem år på at udvikle havnens faciliteter. Det ventes, at Cosco vil øge sin andel af Piræus Havn til 67 procent over de næste fem år, hvilket det kinesiske selskab skal betale yderligere 88 millioner euro for.

Havnen håndterede sidste år 3,36 millioner TEU, hvilket er en markant vækst i forhold til 2010, hvor havnen håndterede 880.000 TEU.
