Containerskib vælter containerkran i Busan

Så skete det igen: Et containerskib rammer en af de store containerkraner, der straks falder sammen som om den var lavet af våd spaghetti. Dele af kranen ramte containerskibet der også fik omfattende skader. Så vidt det vides kom ingen personer til skade.

Ulykken skete mandag eftermiddag lokal til i den sydkoreanske havneby Busan, hvor containerskibet Milano Bridge, der har en kapacitet på 13.870 TEU men sejlede i ballast, ramte containerkranen med agterskibet da det forlod Newport International Terminal.

Tidligere ulykker har vist, at væltede kraner er en dyr affære. Udgiften til køb af en ny kran, evt. skader på skibet og erstatning for driftstab let kan løbe op i mere end 10 millioner dollar.

Skibets chartrer, ONE, har igangsat en undersøgelse af hændelsen. Det samme har de lokale myndigheder i Busan.
