APM Terminals overvejer at gå ind i Bristol

APM Terminals overvejer at samarbejde med Bristol Port Company om at bygge en ny containerterminal i den britiske havneby. Det danske havneselskab bekræfter interessen, men siger også, at det nok ikke er det rigtige tidspunkt at gå i gang med projektet.

"Lige nu er ikke det bedste tidspunkt at overveje en stor investering i britisk infrastruktur," siger Klaus Sejling, Vice President i APM Terminals, til Financial Times.

APM Terminals har investeret i mere end et halvt hundrede havne over hele verden, men er kun svagt repræsenteret på det store nordeuropæiske marked.

Simon Bird, administrerende direktør for Bristol Port Company siger, at de to selskaber har været i gang med forundersøgelser i omkring et år, og at man har "indgået en aftale med APM Terminals om at fastholde projektet".

I Storbritannien er der i øjeblikket ved at blive bygget to andre store containerhavne, hhv. i Felixstowe i Suffolk og i Shellhaven ved Themsen. Endnu to projekter har allerede fået en byggetilladelse.
