KORT NYT: Endnu en containerrederi hæver nu prisen for transportere containere mellem Asien og Europa. APL vil både hæve prisen fra Europa til Asien, og den omvendte vej fra Asien til Europa. Første prisjustering finder sted den 15. marts.
Fra den 15. marts hæver APL prisen per TEU med papir og skrot med 175 dollar, og for alle andre laster med 100 dollar per TEU. Fra den 1. april hæver
APL raterne fra Asien - Europa ved 250 dollar per TEU.

Genco afviser forhøjet tilbud fra Diana Shipping
Det børsnoterede tørlastreder Genco afviser et nyt forhøjet tilbud fra græske Diana Shipping, om at indløse Gencos aktier til en kurs på 23,50 dollars pr. aktie. Afvisningen begrundes på ny med, at indløsningskursen undervurderer Gencos sande værdi.

Rusland fortsat ikke en del af det gode selskab
Det lykkedes ikke Rusland at blive valgt til Rådet for den Internationale Søfartsorganisation IMO i kategori A, i forbindelse med den 34. generalforsamling i IMO. Rusland fik 67 stemmer mens ingen af de ti lande der blev valgt, fik under 140 stemmer.
