Afstemning om krydstogt-fri dag

I Alaskas hovedstad Juneau er mange indbyggere - ikke mindst de erhvervsdrivende - glade for de mange krydstogtskibe der årligt anløber byen Men måske er der alligevel brug for en krydstogt-fri dag om ugen. Det er der nu stemt om.

Et række lokale borgere står bag Ship-Free Saturday, der med virkning fra næste år vil forbyde krydstogtskibe med mere end 250 passagerer at anløbe havnen om lørdagen. Det skriver det lokale medie KTOO ifølge Standby.dk.

De 30.000 indbyggere i hovedstaden kunne afgive deres stemme frem til i går. Nu ventes der spændt på afstemningsresultatet.

Ifølge de lokale myndigheder lagde krydstogtturisterne sidste år sammenlagt 30 millioner kroner i hovedstadens forretninger.
