Ærø coaster tilbageholdt i USA

I en uge har den danske coaster Stella Maris været tilbageholdt i Miami i USA, fordi besætningen siger, at den ikke har fået løn i flere måneder. Besætningen er derfor afmønstret skibet, som retten så har erklæret anholdt.

Ifølge skibets ejer, skibsreder Jan Fabricius, Stella Shipping, skyldes balladen en tvist, der er gået i hårdknude med skibets norske tekniske manager.

"Nu skulle problemet dog være løst! Jeg har netop været i banken for at få de nødvendige penge deponeret, så jeg regner med at skibet vil kunne frigives torsdag fredag", siger Jan Fabricius til Fyns Amts Avis

Besætningen var ansat og skulle derfor også lønnes af den norske tekniske manager, men ifølge Jan Fabricius begyndte hele bataljen med, at den norske manager undlod at udbetale hyre, fordi manageren havde et tilgodehavende hos Stella Shipping.
