Torm: We still sail for Shell
SHIPPING: Torm denies information in the Danish press, that the shipping company has been put on technical hold by Shell, and not being able to sail with Shell Cargo, following an audit on board a number of its ships.
"It is simply wrong. We are still sailing for Shell", Torm's communication officer, Pia Desirée Loft, told maritimedanmark.dk.
Loft explained, that Torm has been subject to a standard office audit prior to a potential resumption of time-charter contracts with Shell.
The audit did lead to a standard period where no vessels were fixed by the oil major, on either time charters or on the spot market, according to Torm. But Spot voyages business with Torm's managed fleet was back to normal from April 13.
"We have businesses with Shell just as usual", Pia Desirée Loft, told maritimedanmark.dk.
