Nordic Tankers appoints Krusell new CEO
SHIPPING: Flemming Krusell Sørensen, who was Managing Director of Nordic Tankers A/S until July 2008, is temporarily appointed CEO of Nordic Tankers A/S. Former Torm CEO Klaus Kjaerulff is new Chairman of the Supervisory Board.
At the extraordinary general meeting in Copenhagen on 2 February, the following candidates were elected as a group to the new Supervisory Board:
Klaus Kjærulff - CEO of D/S Torm A/S until September 2008 Jens Fehrn-Christensen - CFO of D/S Norden A/S until mid-2007 Mogens Buschard - Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Nordic Tankers A/S until March

Flemming Krusell Sørensen - Managing Director of Nordic Tankers A/S until July 2008
Sven Rosenmeyer Paulsen - Partner at Kromann Reumert law firm until 2007 Jesper Tullin - CEO of Finansgruppen A/S
At the subsequent board meeting, the new Supervisory Board elected Klaus Kjærulff as Chairman and Flemming Krusell Sørensen as Deputy Chairman.
At a board meeting Tuesday, Flemming Krusell Sørensen stepped down as as Deputy Chairman and temporarily appointed CEO of Nordic Tankers. He will continue as an ordinary member of the Supervisory Board of the company. Sven Rosenmeyer Paulsen was elected as new Deputy Chairman.
The Supervisory Board announces that the company has an entirely satisfactory equity capital level and has available funds and adequate borrowing facilities.
The Supervisory Board has launched an investigation of the transactions conducted by the former management and announces that following a preliminary assessment, those transactions do not seem to threaten the financial position of the company.
