Mr. Moller's think tank shrinking
SHIPPING: The circle of senior advisors surrounding shipowner Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller is still getting smaller. After previous yard manager Troels Dilling has died, only the former Carlsberg manager Poul Svanholm is left.
Troels Dilling, who died on the 14th of February 88 years old, was the last member but one of Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller's pensioner's club - a group of senior businessmen and functionaries, who met and advised Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller on the great challenges of business life.
Left is only the former Carlsberg manager Poul Svanholm, who still is vice chair of the A.P. Moller-Maersk board, still gives advise to Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller and who still has the right to contradict the senior ship owner.
Besides Dilling and Svanholm, Tage Andersen, C. Jespersen and Eigil Jorgensen were also members of the very influential circle of senior advisors.
Within the A.P. Moller-Maersk headquarters on Esplanaden the group of pensioners had just as many nicknames as it had members. The employees called the club 'The Think Tank', 'The Veteran Club' - and, when the employees were upset over too much interference, the members were called 'The Old Men's Mafia'.
