Maersk Line announces rate increases
SHIPPING: From 2010 on Maersk Line is to increases the general rates in the trans-Atlantic trades. Maersk says the rate increase is necessary, because the trading conditions are subject to unacceptable rate levels, and that the situation is unsustainable in the longer term.
"The rate increase is necessary to continue to operate our services with the high level of liability our customers have come to expect from Maersk Line", the company wrote.
Maersk Line will also change its trans-Atlantic routes in order to adjust the capacity to the current demand, Danish daily Borsen told.
