Lauritzen leads the Lauritzen Group
SHIPPING: Jens Ditlev Lauritzen has been elected new chair of the JL-Fondet and resigns his position as CEO of Lauritzen Bulkers. Jens Ditlev Lauritzen became member of JL-Fondet's board of directors in 1997 and vice chair in 1999.
The 52-year-old Jens Ditlev Lauritzen is the great grand child of Ditlev Lauritzen, who in 1884 founded the shipping company J. Lauritzen Ltd., and son of Jorgen Ditlev Lauritzen, who founded the shipping company Concord Line.
Jens Ditlev lauritzen started his maritime career at Kogtved School of Shipping, which at the time was a part of the shipping company J. Lauritzen.
After having held a number of positions, Jens Ditlev Lauritzen was in 1998 appointed president of Lauritzen Bulkers.
During the 10 years, where Jens Ditlev Lauritzen has led Lauritzen Bulkers, the company has gone through a considerable development from being an operator primarily of handysize bulk ships to international shipping to an operating company of all segments of bulk ships.
