Lauritzen Bulkers kontraherer seks skibe

Lauritzen Bulkers har indgået en aftale med det japanske værft Imabari Shipbuilding om bygning af seks bulk carriers. To af skibene - eco design supramax bulk carriers med en tonnage 63.000 DWT - vil være ejet af Lauritzen, mens de sidste fire tages på langtidscharter.

“Aftalen med Imabar er meget vigtig for os”, siger Peter Borup, direktør for Lauritzen Bulkers.

“Den understreger ikke kun vores lange og tætte forbindelse med Imabari Shipbuilding, men også vores ønske om at fastholde vores stærke position på handysize markedet samtidig med at styrker vores position i supramax segmented”, siger Peter Borup.

De to Lauritzen skibe vil blive leveret i 2017, mens de fire langtidschartrede skibe – en supramax på 63,000 DWT og tre handysize eco design på 38.000 dwt DWT, vil blive leveret i 2016-2017.

Det samlede antal skibe inkluderet i aftalen gør den til en af de største aftaler det japanske værft indtil dato har indgået.
