Three persons rescued from burning ship
Three crew members managed to escape from a burning wind farm support vessel before it sank engulfed in flames in the North Sea. The 15-meter long ECC Topaz was heading out to sea, when a fire broke out around lunchtime on Tuesday, 10 nautical miles from the coast.
"An RAF helicopter hoisted the three men to safety from their life raft out of Lowestoft," says Maritime and Coastguard Agency said in a statement.
The crew is believed to have suffered serious injury, even though they were brought to the James Paget University Hospital in Great Yarmouth as a precaution.
Fuel and oil on board East Coast Charters vessel is believed to be burned out before the boat sank.
