The new owners have re-named the shop Mignon in Leekhaven in Rotterdam. Mignong has been registered under the Sierra Leone flag with Freetown as its home port.
"We have sold our strongest tug to continue fleet renewal", says Niels Aage Henriksen, senior shipper in Svendborg Bugser.
"It's been in our fleet since 2001 and has done very well, but at the age of 33 years begins to be costly in repair costs, especially its main machine. So now, some others will continue with it. We operate the towing boats quite intensively and are quite demanding regarding the machinery, which is aging, but it still has many years left as a tow", says Niels Henriksen.
Under Svendborg Bugser’s flag it has been on many overseas trips. It has been in the Arabian Gulf several times, in the United States and the Caribbean, as well as Europe and Africa. It has also been in Murmansk in northern Russia and surrounding areas on different tasks. Svendborg Bugser also own the towing boats Hunter and Egesund, the newest in the fleet, which are on longer lasting task with the assistance of construction equipment in connection with the laying of a gas pipeline in the Kara Sea east of Novaya Zemlya.
