O.W. Bunker announces new strategy
MARITIME SERVICE: OW Bunker, one of the world's leading suppliers and traders of marine fuel, is implementing a new corporate strategy to support its significant growth, and to create a foundation for continued and sustainable expansion over the coming years.
The process, which will be completed by 2011, will see the implementation of a global business and sales strategy that is devolved from a central function, and delivered and managed across five key regions; Asia, Northern Europe, Central Europe, The Mediterranean and the Middle East and South America.
"Our objective is to create a foundation so that the Group can sustain its significant growth, while ensuring that we continue to provide our customers with the best possible service.
Our new strategy will empower the regions where we have a major presence to take responsibility for strategic decisions at a local level, which will increase the momentum of meeting our Group corporate objectives and expediting global growth", says Morten Skou, Executive Vice President, OW Bunker.
In conjunction with delivering this strategy, OW Bunker is undertaking a recruitment process, which will see the appointment of new Regional Directors, a Global Sales Director, as well as a number of Regional and Global Sales Account Executives.
Recruits will come from both within the business, as well as external appointments.

Our new strategy will empower the regions where we have a major presence to take responsibility for strategic decisions at a local level, which will increase the momentum of meeting our Group corporate objectives and expediting global growth",
Morten Skou says.
In the past few years, OW Bunker has realised exponential growth to become one of the largest global independent, full service bunker suppliers in the industry with over 8% of the market, and a presence in all major oil service areas in the world.
The new strategy will serve to maximise business optimisation in each region, and enhance operational synergies across the Group by ensuring closer collaboration and alignment between regional and local offices as well as the sharing of knowledge on a worldwide basis.
The company's Risk Management division, Cargo division and Tanker division, which has over 30 vessels, will support each region.
