Engelsk yacht fundet tom og drivende

Lynn Rival, den yacht som to englændere sejlede i, da de i sidste uge udsendte nødsignaler efter at være blevet over faldet af somaliske pirater sydvest for Seychellerne, er fundet tom og drivende på havet.

Det var en spansk flådehelikopter der fandt det engelske sejlskib kort før mørkets frembrud. Marinesoldater har efterfølgende konstateret, at yachten er tom, og at der ingen spor er af de to ejere - Paul og Rachel Chandler.

Yachten bar ikke tegn på, at de to ejere var kommet til skade i forbindelse med den formodede kapring.

Somaliske pirater har tidligere bekræftet, at de har taget ægteparret til fange, og i kraftige vendinger advaret de internationale flådestyrker mod at forsøge, at befri gidslerne med våbenmagt.

Chandler-familien har endnu ikke modtaget krav om løsepenge. Men kravet ventes fremsat i løbet af få dage.

De to briter blev overfaldet torsdag eller fredag i sidste uge, da de var på vej fra Seychellerne til Tanzania.
