Pirater kræver løsesum på 1,1 mio. dollar

De pirater der har kapret det dansk chartrede fragtskib Amiya Scan kræver en løsesum på 1,1 millioner dollar for at løslade skib og besætning. Men skibets hollandske ejere vil kun betale piraterne 700.000 dollar, erfarer den norske shippingavis TradeWinds

Hverken skibets ejer - det hollandske rederi

Reider Shipping, eller danske Scan Trans, der har charteret skibet for en treårig periode, ønsker af hensyn til besætningens sikkerhed at kommentere forløbet.

"Begge virksomheder gør alt hvad vi kan, for at finde en fredelig løsning", siger de to rederier samstemmende.

Det panamansk indregistrerede, hollandsk ejede og dansk chartrede fragtskib ligger fortsat ud for den somaliske havneby Bargal. Hertil ankom det i sidste uge, efter at det blev kapret af somaliske pirater i Adenbugten den 25. maj.

Ombord på skibet befinder der sig en besætning på ni. Fire russiske officerer og fem menige filippinere, der alle meldes i god behold, om end kaptajnen har pådraget sig influenza.

Lokalregeringen i den somaliske Puntland provins har tidligere oplyst, at den har sendt tropper til havnebyen Bargal.
