Nordana contracts for 4 MPP H/L
Nordana has signed contracts for 4 units MPP H/L vessels with Sanfu Shipyard in China. The ship design has been developed in a close and constructive co-operation between Nordana, Sanfu Ship Yard and Shanghai Merchant Ship Design and Research Institute.
The new design is a further development of Nordana's existing Great Dane mk I of which 11 units were delivered from Sanfu to Nordana in 2009/2012.
The Great Dane mk II, is characterized by:
• Eco friendly/green technology – latest proven achievements to be applied to limit Sulphur Oxides, Nitrogen Oxides, Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, Performance Standard for Protective Coating, Ballast Water Treatment etc.
• Structural changes and enhanced crane capacity
to provide a ship more tailor made to cater for and respond to
our customer’s needs
The ships will be multipurpose vessels with heavy lift capacity for up to 500 metric tons and 12,100 metric tons deadweight with two holds and hatches and tween deck with adjustable height in both holds.
Deliveries will be in November 2014 for the first unit and with 3 months intervals for the following units.
