DMA: Good ideas wanted
MARITIME SERVICE: The Danish Maritime Authority takes part in a European network on research and development of maritime technologies. A new call gives universities, research institutions and companies a possibility of applying for means for developing maritime technologies.
As part of the network’s activities, a call was opened in December 2011, making it possible for the network’s Member States to form so-called cross-national consortia on projects within maritime technology. It is possible for universities, research institutions and companies to participate in these consortia.

It is possible for all Danish universities, research institutions and companies, etc. to participate. As regards the financing of Danish participation in the call, reference is made to the Danish Maritime Fund, the Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation, the Danish Business Authority and the Danish Environmental Protection Agency.
The call is open now and until 30 April 2012.
The aim of ERA-NET MARTEC is to establish a permanent network focusing on the development of maritime technologies through transnational calls for maritime technological programmes. Typically, the calls will be minor than calls under the EU framework programmes for technological research and development and provide a possibility of developing more nationally focused strength positions.
The network participants are institutions financing research as well as ministries and agencies responsible for research and development in this area. A wide number of European countries take part in the call.
