Unifeeder Shortsea starts new service
SHIPPING: Unifeeder is expanding its extensive Russian service with one weekly departure from Antwerp to St. Petersburg. The new service will have one weekly departure to St. Petersburg terminal FCT Area 3 and is to commence from week 4, 2012
With the new connection, Unifeeder now offers a total of nine weekly connections between the European hub ports Antwerp, Hamburg and Rotterdam, and Russia.
“The Antwerp service will bring our service on the Belgian and French markets to new heights, benefitting and supporting our growth ambitions. We are always looking for new opportunities in the market and with this new connection, our aspiration to function as an extended conveyor belt now also includes a direct option for the Belgian and French markets”, says Simon H. Galsgaard, director at Unifeeder’s Shortsea division.
That Shortsea transportation is a more environmentally sustainable solution compared to traditional transportation by train or road has long been known.
“More and more customers are looking for greener solutions and our 45’ containers are a perfect substitute for standard trailers since intake is the same, 33 EURO pallets, but the CO2 emission is substantially lower”, says Simon H. Galsgaard.
